During a meeting in New York on Friday, former President Donald Trump expressed his readiness to broker peace between Russia and Ukraine if re-elected, emphasizing his positive relationship with Vladimir Putin while standing alongside Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky. Despite prior public criticisms between the two, their interaction highlighted hopes for resolving the ongoing conflict.
Trump suggested that if he wins the presidency, a peace agreement could be swiftly achieved, while Zelensky reiterated the importance of ending the war, emphasizing that Ukraine must prevail and push Russian forces out. Both leaders shared the sentiment that the war should never have started, though tensions were palpable during their exchange.
This meeting comes at a critical time for Zelensky as he seeks to secure further military aid from the U.S., while Trump remains vocal about limiting U.S. funding to Ukraine. Following the meeting, Trump appeared on Fox News, reaffirming his belief in reaching a "fair" deal between Russia and Ukraine, though he refrained from offering specifics.

Starlink, SpaceX’s satellite internet network, has reached an impressive milestone with over 4 million subscribers, as announced by company President Gwynne Shotwell during her testimony before Texas lawmakers. She shared the news on Tuesday, noting the company had rapidly added 1 million new customers since May. SpaceX confirmed the achievement on Thursday.
This marks a significant acceleration in growth for Starlink, which launched its beta service in October 2020. Since then, the subscriber count has skyrocketed: hitting 1 million by December 2022, 2 million by September 2023, and 3 million by May of this year. With nearly 6,000 satellites in orbit, Starlink now provides service in almost 100 countries to both individual users and enterprise clients, including major airlines and cruise lines.
The service is on track to generate $6.6 billion in revenue this year, a substantial increase from the $1.4 billion earned just two years ago, according to Quilty Space. Starlink remains at the core of SpaceX’s strategy to fund future space exploration, particularly the development of Starship, which is expected to further enhance satellite launches.
As the leading player in satellite internet, Starlink continues to expand, overshadowing older competitors like Viasat and SES, with future competition expected from Amazon’s Project Kuiper, which has yet to launch commercially.
Binance Co-Founder Changpeng Zhao to be Released Early Following Prison Term

Changpeng Zhao, co-founder of Binance, is set to be released from prison this Friday, two days ahead of his scheduled release after serving a four-month sentence for failing to maintain an effective anti-money laundering program. As part of his settlement, Zhao will no longer hold any executive or strategic positions within Binance and will be restricted from participating in the company’s daily operations, including trading, marketing, and regulatory matters.
Zhao, known as "CZ" in the crypto community, also faces temporary restrictions on involvement in cryptocurrency exchanges and trading services. His legal troubles began after global regulators began scrutinizing Binance’s activities, leading to multiple lawsuits and ultimately, his conviction in 2024 for money laundering violations. Despite Zhao’s absence, Binance has reportedly thrived under its new leadership, but Zhao’s next steps remain uncertain following his release.
Zhao's rapid rise and subsequent fall highlight the complex regulatory environment for cryptocurrency exchanges operating in multiple jurisdictions.
